While Governor Hochul's State of the State address tackled affordability and inflation, it has drawn criticism for being disconnected from the realities faced by New Yorkers. Assemblyman Mikulin expressed his dissatisfaction with the proposed solutions, suggesting they might lead to more residents leaving the state.
Mikulin stated, "While Gov. Hochul addressed concerns over affordability and inflation issues in her State of the State speech, her out-of-touch ‘solutions’ to these issues will do nothing but drive more New Yorkers out-of-state."
He emphasized the struggles many residents face in making ends meet and called for practical policymaking during this year's legislative session. "Enough is enough," he said. "With so many New Yorkers struggling to make ends meet, we must bring common-sense policymaking to the table throughout legislative session this year."
Mikulin further highlighted the need for financial security and affordability for middle-class families, seniors, and small businesses. He concluded, "It is time we bring middle-class families, seniors and small businesses the financial security and affordability they deserve."
