Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick has announced the success of a community book drive organized by her office. The initiative collected over 1,000 books for underserved communities within the 9th Senate District.

The goal of the book drive was to enhance literacy and encourage a love for learning by providing access to reading materials for individuals and families who might not easily obtain them. Local residents, businesses, and community groups contributed generously, surpassing expectations and ensuring that both children and adults will benefit from the donations.

“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who participated in our book drive initiative,” stated Senator Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick. “Every book donated is a step toward encouraging literacy and a lifelong love of reading. The response from our community has been incredible, and I look forward to continuing initiatives that make a positive impact on those in need.”

The collected books were handed over to Book Fairies, a non-profit organization committed to distributing reading materials across Long Island's underserved communities.
