Assemblyman John Mikulin, representing Bethpage, is advocating for the postponement of upcoming changes to the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP), which were scheduled to be implemented in early April. He supports the proposal from both the Assembly and Senate Minority Conferences to defer the implementation until July 1st.

Mikulin emphasized the importance of ensuring continuous home-based care services for the elderly and disabled New York residents. "Elderly and disabled New York residents deserve better," Mikulin stated. He further noted the necessity of the delay, saying, "To ensure there is no lapse in home-based care services for those in need, we must delay the deadline for full implementation of the new changes to CDPAP."
