For the fourth consecutive year, the state budget under Governor Hochul has been delayed, affecting New Yorkers, local governments, and school districts with uncertainty. The delay has necessitated the passage of a temporary budget extender to maintain basic operations. However, this solution offers only temporary relief and fails to provide the stability needed by communities.

Senator Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick stated, "New Yorkers deserve a budget that prioritizes fiscal responsibility, economic growth, and essential services without unnecessary delays."
