Assemblyman Ed Ra has partnered with the Mineola School District, Mineola Memorial Library, and Hillside Public Library to conduct the annual Valentine's for Veterans program. This initiative is aimed at honoring local veterans by collecting donations of personal care items and Valentine’s Day cards made by students.

On February 10, over 1,000 handmade cards along with essential supplies were delivered to the Long Island State Veterans Home and the Northport VA. This gesture was intended to express gratitude for veterans' service and sacrifices.

Assemblyman Ra expressed his appreciation for those involved in this year's program: “I’m incredibly grateful to the Mineola School District, Mineola Memorial Library, Hillside Public Library and all the students and community members who participated in this year’s Valentine’s for Veterans program. Their generosity and thoughtfulness help remind our local veterans how much their service is appreciated. Delivering these heartfelt cards and essential items is a small but meaningful way to say ‘thank you.’”
