Over the past two years, Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick has been engaging with residents of the 9th Senate District to understand their concerns and challenges. She acknowledges the shared struggles of inflation, public safety issues, and antisemitism that many face. As a mother and small-business owner, she relates to these difficulties.

Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick expresses gratitude for being re-elected to represent her district in Albany. With the upcoming 2025 state legislative session, she is focused on advocating for lower costs and addressing affordability issues impacting New Yorkers. She criticizes previous one-party control in the Legislature for tax-and-spend policies and stresses the need to reduce state spending.

Highlighting concerns over bail reform policies enacted in 2020, Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick introduced a bill aimed at restoring judicial discretion when setting bail. This practice is allowed by most states but prohibited in New York.

Addressing antisemitism, she notes a lack of action from state lawmakers on proposals from the Antisemitism Working Group Report. Despite challenges, she remains optimistic about collaborating with lawmakers across party lines to address youth mental health issues. Last year, bipartisan legislation she co-sponsored was signed into law to protect children from harmful social media algorithms.

Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick acknowledges that solving New York's problems will take time but draws inspiration from community stories. She thanks residents for their support and contributions to making communities better places to live.

"Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick represents the 9th Senate District."
