He noted that Long Islanders had shown support for Neutra since the attacks on October 7 and expressed heartbreak over the news.

In a follow-up tweet posted on the same day, he emphasized the need to address those responsible for such anguish: "We must eradicate the Hamas terrorists who caused a family & community such anguish." He also offered condolences by saying, "May Omer’s memory be a blessing."

He remarked: "Barbaric terrorists in the middle east have been put on notice by the President-elect." He warned that if hostages were not freed before inauguration day, Hamas would witness strong American leadership.
