Mayor Parise's journey from a distinguished U.S. Army soldier in World War II to a beloved public servant is highlighted by his unwavering commitment to justice and human dignity. Reflecting on his wartime experiences, Mayor Parise once shared, "General Eisenhower came out with an order — every soldier had to visit the camps to witness what went on there so there would be no question there was a Holocaust."

A close associate of Mayor Parise commended his leadership and work ethic, stating, "I witnessed firsthand his exemplary leadership and tireless work ethic."
