Assemblyman Curran honors veteran Barry Griggs at annual event

On Sunday, October 19, Assemblyman Brian Curran from Lynbrook hosted his annual Veterans Hall of Honor event. This occasion is designed to recognize local veterans for their service to the country.

Barry Griggs from Freeport was among those honored. Barry served in the Army for three years as a member of the 728th Military Police Battalion and spent 13 months in Korea. Afterward, he joined the 17th Artillery Military Police Group at Fort Meade, where he achieved the rank of Specialist 4th Class before being honorably discharged. Following his military service, Barry continued to serve as a police officer.
