Assemblyman Jake Blumencranz (R,C-Oyster Bay) is hosting a blood drive on Wednesday, July 31 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Gold Coast Library in Glen Head. Currently, New York is facing one of the most critical shortages of O-positive and O-negative blood since before the pandemic. Across the state, people of all ages rely on blood donations as they recover from injuries and fight illnesses. Blumencranz is partnering with the New York Blood Center to help reverse this trend.

“Donating blood is simple, easy and one of the most practical ways to make a direct impact on those in need,” said Blumencranz. “As we’re facing a historic blood shortage in our state, donating is now more important than ever. I’m proud to be partnering with the New York Blood Center, and I encourage residents of the 15th Assembly District to donate blood and help save lives.”
