Assemblyman Jake Blumencranz (R,C-Oyster Bay) has announced that he will host a blood drive in partnership with the New York Blood Center (NYBC) on Thursday, Jan. 11 at Gold Coast Library. The event is scheduled to take place from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., providing an opportunity for community members to contribute to a worthy cause.

In a statement, Blumencranz emphasized the importance of blood donation, stating, "Donating blood is one of the easiest ways to make a lasting impact on those in need." He further highlighted the significance of such initiatives in addressing the shortage of blood supply in New York, expressing optimism that drives like this can help improve the situation. "New York has seen a shortage in banked blood for patients over the past few years and drives like this can help us turn the tide," Blumencranz remarked.

With a call to action, Blumencranz urged residents of the 15th Assembly District to participate in the upcoming blood drive at Gold Coast Library. He stated, "I hope residents of the 15th Assembly District will come out to Gold Coast Library on Jan. 11 to help save lives."

Attendees of the blood drive will not only have the opportunity to contribute to a vital cause but will also receive a token of appreciation. Each donor will be given a voucher redeemable for two complimentary tickets to a select 2024 New York Islanders regular season home game at UBS Arena.

The event serves as a valuable opportunity for individuals to make a difference in the community by supporting a crucial healthcare need. Residents are encouraged to mark their calendars for Jan. 11 and join Assemblyman Blumencranz at Gold Coast Library to play a part in saving lives through blood donation.
