The Assembly's one-house budget proposal for the 2025-26 fiscal year stands at $256.5 billion. This amount marks a record high, surpassing a quarter of a trillion dollars. However, according to Mikulin, it does not adequately tackle the issues of high living costs and the heavy tax burden faced by residents in New York.

Mikulin expressed dissatisfaction with the proposal, stating, "This is unacceptable—New York taxpayers deserve better."
