Assemblyman Ari Brown has begun his new term representing New York's 20th Assembly District. As the ranking Minority member of the Local Governments Committee, Brown aims to introduce legislation that strengthens local economies and directs resources to critical areas.

Brown plans to address several issues important to his constituents, such as reducing living costs, lowering taxes, combating antisemitism, enhancing public safety, and opposing certain policies from Governor Kathy Hochul's administration. Among these is the congestion pricing plan.

He also opposes projects like offshore wind farms and battery storage facilities that he believes disrupt local communities and landscapes. "We’ve already seen the detrimental effects of poorly planned offshore wind farms on our coastal communities, which threaten to destroy our vistas and local infrastructure. I will continue to battle these projects, ensuring they don’t intrude on our communities," said Brown. He expressed similar concerns about battery storage facilities: "I will fight to protect our streets, views and overall quality of life from these disruptive projects."

Brown emphasizes creating policies that balance community protection with economic growth. "Our communities are facing real challenges, and I am committed to advocating for policies that make life more affordable, safer and better for all New Yorkers. We need a state government that works for the people, not against them," he stated.
