Senator Rhoads has initiated a campaign to halt congestion pricing, a policy he describes as an unfair burden on Long Islanders commuting to Manhattan for various essential activities. According to Senator Rhoads, this measure negatively impacts small businesses and fails to address traffic congestion effectively.
"Senator Rhoads is leading the charge to stop this unfair policy," reads the statement. He urges the Governor and other New York State legislators to take immediate action by suspending the congestion pricing program, conducting a thorough review of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (MTA) budget and spending practices, and developing a more equitable solution for traffic congestion that does not disproportionately affect Long Island residents and businesses.
The call to action emphasizes community involvement: "We need your voice to make a difference. Together, we can stop congestion pricing and hold Albany accountable."
