Assemblyman John Mikulin (R,C-Bethpage) expressed his support for Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) during a recent press conference in Albany, highlighting the importance of the medical facility in providing healthcare to the community. Mikulin, along with other lawmakers and healthcare professionals, emphasized the need for financial aid to ensure the continuity of critical services at NUMC.

"Many Nassau County residents rely on NUMC," stated Mikulin, underscoring the significant role the medical center plays in serving the local population. He further highlighted that "NUMC provides state-of-the-art health care and treatment to our indigent populations," illustrating the high standard of care offered by the facility.

Drawing attention to the financial challenges faced by NUMC, Mikulin noted that the medical center has experienced a significant reduction in aid, amounting to over $300 million since 2017. He warned that this financial strain could potentially lead to a healthcare crisis if not addressed promptly. In response to these challenges, Mikulin made a direct appeal to the Governor, urging for immediate monetary assistance to support NUMC's sustainability.

"I call for the Governor to provide monetary aid to NUMC that will keep this remarkable medical center standing for years to come," asserted Mikulin, emphasizing the critical need for financial support to safeguard the future of NUMC and ensure continued access to essential healthcare services for the community.
