New York Assembly member Mikulin has voiced concerns about the current budget proposal, stating that it may not be in the best interest of New York families. Mikulin's remarks come as the Assembly discusses the allocation of funds for the upcoming fiscal year.
"I support the restoration of funds to our educational system proposed in the Assembly One-House Budget," Mikulin stated. "However, the one-house budget is still not in the overall best interest of New Yorkers. Overspending and proposing more than $3.5 billion in new taxes will inevitably push us closer to the edge of a fiscal cliff. The budget needs to prioritize relief to our residents instead of over-burdening citizens with increased taxes."
The debate over the budget priorities continues in the Assembly as lawmakers work to address the concerns raised by Mikulin and others regarding the potential impact on New York families.
