WASHINGTON, D.C. -- On May 31, 2023, Congressman Anthony D'Esposito (NY-04) released the following statement regarding passage of the bipartisan Fiscal Responsibility Act - a comprehensive plan negotiated between House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and President Joe Biden to responsibly raise the debt ceiling.  Congressman D'Esposito voted in favor of the Fiscal Responsibility Act.

"The Fiscal Responsibility Act PASSED in the House with bipartisan support. This plan raises the debt ceiling, curbs reckless government spending and preserves important federal programs programs — key House Republican priorities. I applaud Speaker McCarthy for striking this deal in the midst of divided government on Capitol Hill."
