Cost of college went up for all students at the New York Institute of Technology

Tuition and fees rose 2.8 percent for 2018-19 at the New York Institute of Technology, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

New York students paid $36,890 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,020 more than the $35,870 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 99 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 845 students received grants or scholarships totaling $21.9 million and 466 students took out student loans totaling more than $3 million.

Including all undergraduates (7,173), 3,096 students used grants or scholarships totaling $66.9 million, and 1,836 students took out $12.1 million in federal student loans.
