Agnes Kirschner has significantly contributed to her community through her volunteer work and leadership roles. As a long-time volunteer at The Church of St. Aiden’s in Williston Park, she teaches religious education classes to elementary and middle school children. Leading Girl Scout Troop 1446, she helped the girls earn the Bronze Award, encouraging leadership and service.

In the East Williston School District PTO, Kirschner initiated programs like Northside School’s Books Alive, Willets Road Spooky Walk, and Wheatley Senior Prom Party. Joining the East Williston Recreation League in 2004, she revitalized community events such as the Egg Hunt and Memorial 5K. She recently organized the inaugural Drumstick Dash 5K to support the East Williston Volunteer Fire Department.

Kirschner also coaches volleyball and softball and has volunteered at the Little League Parade for years. Her role as a founding member of the East Williston Chapter of Ryan’s Case for Smiles includes teaching others to sew pillowcases for hospitalized children. This effort partnered with North Hempstead’s Project Independence, involving senior citizens in creating comfort for young patients.

Additionally, Kirschner fundraises for the Children’s Readiness Center at BOCES and raises awareness for Autism Speaks Walkathon annually. Her dedication to service has positively impacted many lives, embodying true volunteerism.
