Village crews from Recreation & Parks and Public Works began spring cleanup efforts on April 14 in the downtown business district. Workers focused on 7th Street, preparing the area for the upcoming season.

The annual maintenance is intended to ensure that local businesses and visitors enjoy a clean and welcoming environment as warmer weather approaches. The work comes as part of preparations for the nation’s upcoming 250th birthday celebration.

According to village officials, activities included planting trees, fixing signs, and repairing sidewalk pavers and tree grates. Additional efforts are planned in the coming days, such as flower planting, power washing street furniture, and other detailing projects aimed at sprucing up public spaces.

These improvements are part of routine seasonal work designed to maintain safety and appearance throughout the business district. Village representatives said these measures help support local commerce by creating an attractive setting for shoppers and residents alike.

Further beautification steps will continue leading up to national celebrations later this year.
