Assemblyman Ed Ra of Franklin Square introduced a resolution in the New York State Assembly Chamber to honor Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. As part of this observance, Ra invited schools from the 19th Assembly District to engage in his annual Praise Our Police (POP) initiative. This program encourages students to express gratitude through cards, posters, and letters for local law enforcement officers.

"Each year, I’m inspired by the creativity and heartfelt appreciation our students show for the brave men and women in law enforcement," said Ra. "Programs like Praise Our Police remind us of the importance of building meaningful connections between our community and the officers who dedicate their lives to keeping us safe. These small gestures of kindness go a long way in showing our respect and gratitude."

Ra further expressed his appreciation: "As always, I want to extend my sincere thanks to every law enforcement officer here in Nassau County and across the state. Your dedication and service are deeply valued and never taken for granted."

The participating schools included George Washington School, Cornwell Avenue School, John Street School, Mineola Middle School, Mineola High School, Cherry Lane School, Garden City Park School, and New Hyde Park Road School.
