Bloomberg Law has ranked three Hofstra Law initiatives as top programs in its inaugural Law School Innovation Program.
Hofstra Law’s National Legal Innovation Tournament, Computer Technology in Legal Practice course, and Law, Logic and Technology Law Laboratory were listed as highest-scoring programs in the Innovation & Technology category.
Bloomberg Law’s Law School Innovation Program, recognizes law schools that lead in pioneering educational innovations that benefit students, schools, and the legal field while raising overall awareness of innovation in legal education.
“Technology is rapidly changing how lawyers practice and how law schools teach. At Hofstra Law, our goal is expose students to cutting-edge legal tech in all areas of practice and to create programs that will uniquely position our students for lasting success when they graduate,” said Hon. A. Gail Prudenti, dean of Hofstra Law. “We are grateful to see these efforts recognized by Bloomberg Law.”
The evaluators for the Law School Innovation Program included practicing attorneys, legal tech and legal operations professionals, in-house counsel, and Bloomberg Law experts.
“Our legal-tech programs strive to develop our students’ legal-tech literacy and competency, and train the students to develop innovative tech-based solutions to improve access to justice, increase diversity within the profession, and advance the legal industry,” said John Tsiforas, director of law & technology, director of distance education and visiting assistant professor of law. “These three winning programs reflect that mission.”
