Costello's Ace Hardware of Farmingdale to give away American flags

Costello's Ace Hardware of Farmingdale will give away free American flags on Saturday, May 28 to honor the Memorial Day holiday.

New York lost 1,766 soldiers in the Korean war and 2,646 in the Vietnam conflict.

Consumers visiting the store at 1102 Broadhollow Rd, Farmingdale will receive a free 8’ by 12’ American flag. A second will be donated to the local VFW Corp. George Benkert Jr. Post to be used for marking veterans’ graves on Memorial Day.

This year, Ace Hardware Corporation aims to again give away more than one million American flags nationally. Last year, it gave away more than 500,000 to Ace customers and more than 550,000 to more than 1,900 VFW Posts.

Flags will be available at Costello's Ace Hardware of Farmingdale while quantities last. Each consumer is limited to one free flag; no purchase is necessary.
