Raich Ende Malter and Co LLP issued the following announcement on April 10

The IRS has announced it is extending certain payment and filing due dates to July 15, 2020. This postponement will further amplify the relief provided in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

The most notable postponements are:

  • Estimated tax payments due 6/15/20 (for individuals, trusts, and corporations) and any other payments due from 4/1/20 to 7/15/20
  • Fiscal year corporate returns with a due date (either original or extended) from 4/1/20 to 7/15/20
  • Form 706 Estate tax return and Form 709 Gift tax return payment and filing
  • Foreign information returns
No extension request is required for the postponement of these “specified forms” and “specified payment;” the postponement is automatic. The list of returns and payments covered by this postponement appears to be purposely expansive and seems to push the due date for almost all conceivable forms and payments to July 15, 2020.
