Many Long Island residents are facing high costs on their water utility bills. Senator Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick has provided an update on efforts to address this issue. Earlier this year, the senator introduced legislation aimed at lowering water bills by excluding privately owned water-works corporations, such as Liberty Water, from the Special Franchise Tax (SFT). This state-mandated tax can account for more than 30% of customers’ water bills.
