On August 5, Senator Steve Rhoads joined Senator Monica Martinez and a group of interns in partnership with Habitat for Humanity to participate in a community home-building project. The event brought together local volunteers and staff from the senators’ offices to help construct a house for a family in need.

Senator Rhoads and members of his district office took an active role at the build site, working directly alongside other participants. The project aimed to provide tangible support for Long Island families facing housing challenges.

“This is what real community looks like—neighbors helping neighbors and leaders stepping up to serve alongside those they represent,” said Senator Rhoads. “I’m proud of my team and grateful to Habitat for Humanity for the opportunity to make a lasting difference in someone’s life.”

The initiative is part of Senator Rhoads’ ongoing efforts to support families throughout the region by collaborating with organizations focused on housing and public service.
