On April 11, Senator Martins reflected on his previous role as mayor while participating in a swearing-in ceremony: “Honored to swear in Mayor Paul Pereira as Mineola Mayor, an office I was proud to hold years ago. Moments like this remind me how important local government is. Thank you to Mayor Pereira and the Board of Trustees for stepping up to serve. Wishing you a successful term ahead.”

On April 12, he extended greetings for Orthodox Easter: “Wishing a joyful and blessed Orthodox Easter to all who celebrate across New York and around the world.

May this sacred day of renewal and faith bring peace to your homes and unity to our world.

Christ is Risen! Καλή Ανάσταση!”

Marking Yom HaShoah on April 14, Senator Martins wrote: “On this #YomHaShoah we remember the 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust & honor the courage & heroism of the survivors. As we reflect, we renew our responsibility to confront antisemitism wherever it appears and to always defend the values of dignity and humanity.”
