Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick hosted a ‘Veterans Bagel Breakfast’ at the Oceanside VFW, bringing together local veterans for a roundtable discussion. This event provided a platform for veterans to share their experiences and concerns directly with the senator.

“Our veterans have given so much to protect our freedoms — the least we can do is listen, learn, and stand up for them whenever and wherever it’s needed,” stated Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick. She emphasized her commitment to acting on veterans’ concerns in Albany, ensuring their voices are heard.

The breakfast covered topics like access to healthcare and mental health services, strengthening veteran resources locally, and increasing membership at VFW and American Legion Posts.

Luke Magliaro, Chief of Staff for the Veterans of Foreign Wars of New York and Veterans Service Officer for the Town of Hempstead, highlighted the importance of these events. He stated, “Senator Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick truly understands the priorities and concerns of veterans. She remains fully committed to supporting veterans and their families, ensuring their rights, benefits, and needs are protected…”

Senator Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick aims to make this breakfast a recurring event to maintain open communication with the veteran community. Veterans are encouraged to reach out to her office with questions or comments.
