Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick, a Republican representing New York and known for her advocacy on public safety and local governance, shared recent reflections and criticisms regarding community service and state development policy through a series of posts on March 24 and 25, 2026.
On March 24, Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick highlighted her participation in a ceremony honoring long-serving members of the Hewlett Fire Department. She stated, “I had the privilege of attending a ceremony honoring 6 men for their service to the Hewlett Fire Department for over 50 years. That’s a total of over 300 years of dedicating their time to protecting their community and serving others. I am personally grateful that such selfless”.
The following day, she addressed concerns about state-level housing legislation. On March 25, she wrote, “We fought this overreach before, and we’re seeing it again. The REVIVE Act forces density, restricts local zoning authority, and fast-tracks major development. Nassau County is not the sixth borough of New York City, and we won’t let Albany decide what’s best for our communities.” In a subsequent post at nearly the same time, she shared an additional link without further comment: “https://t.co/XRwCPqAv7Y”.
Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick has consistently advocated for public safety, fiscal responsibility, environmental protection, homeowners’ rights, and small businesses in Long Island communities (official biography). Her background includes service as trustee, police commissioner, fire commissioner, deputy mayor, and budget director in Malverne. She holds degrees from St. John’s University School of Law and College of Business Administration as well as a Master of Laws from New York University School of Law. Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick resides in Malverne with her husband and four children.
