On Thursday, May 29, former Massapequa High School standout Ryan Starr’s current collegiate team the Ole Miss Rebels lost 0-1 against the Texas Tech Lady Raiders in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship.
The game took place at Devon Park at 7:15 p.m. and was the first matchup against the Texas Tech Lady Raiders in the tournament.
The Ole Miss Rebels’ next game will take place on Friday, May 30 at 8:35 p.m. at Devon Park.
The New York Islanders lost 3-0 against Ottawa Senators at UBS Arena due to special teams struggles and missed scoring chances late in their playoff race push. Head Coach Pete DeBoer emphasized there is still hope heading into their final two games.
Matthew Schaefer, Max Shabanov, and Ilya Sorokin took maintenance days but are expected to play Saturday against Ottawa according to New York Islanders’ updates from April 10th practice at UBS Arena. The team remains focused on securing playoff positioning.
Matthew Schaefer scored his 23rd goal of his rookie campaign, tying an NHL single-season record for goals by a rookie defenseman. He also holds franchise and league records in other categories this year.
