The New York Islanders announced on Apr. 17 that Daniil Prokhorov has been reassigned from Dynamo Moscow to the Bridgeport Islanders.

Prokhorov, who was selected by the Islanders as the 42nd overall pick in the second round of the 2025 draft, recently completed his first season playing in Russia’s Kontinental Hockey League. During his time with Dynamo Moscow, he recorded one assist over 23 games. He also played for Dynamo St. Petersburg in Russia’s second-tier professional league, appearing in 25 games and tallying nine goals and nine assists for a total of 18 points.

In addition to his time in the KHL and VHL, Prokhorov participated in eight games with Dynamo Moscow’s team in Russia’s top junior league, where he notched three goals and three assists.

The Bridgeport Islanders have two regular season games remaining on Friday and Saturday. The assignment gives Prokhorov an opportunity to join Bridgeport ahead of these final contests.

Looking ahead, observers will be watching how Prokhorov adapts to North American hockey as he joins Bridgeport at this stage of their season.
