Assemblyman Mikulin expressed dissatisfaction with the recently enacted state budget, highlighting its shortcomings for New Yorkers. He pointed out that the $254 billion budget included several policy decisions he could not endorse. A significant concern for Mikulin was the state’s decision to take over the Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC). “NUMC plays a vital role in the Nassau County community and should remain under local control, not the governor’s control,” he stated. Consequently, Mikulin voted against this year’s state budget.
