The New York Islanders have signed forward Daniil Prokhorov to a three-year, entry-level contract. Prokhorov was selected by the Islanders in the second round, 42nd overall, at the 2025 NHL Draft held in Los Angeles.
Prokhorov, who is from Krasnodar, Russia, played last season with MHK St. Petersburg in the Molodezhnaya Hokkeinaya Liga (MHL), Russia’s junior hockey league. He scored 27 points, including 20 goals and seven assists, over 43 games. He finished second on his team in scoring and contributed four goals in eight playoff games. Over his career in the MHL, Prokhorov has recorded 43 points—27 goals and 16 assists—in 79 games.
