Republican Leader Ed Ra, a New York State Assembly member and Long Island native, shared several updates on social media between March 22 and March 25, 2026, highlighting both community engagement and public safety concerns.

On March 22, Ra posted: “Darling to the hole for the winner!!! https://t.co/gyLoUC3jGj”.

Two days later, on March 23, he wrote about meeting with a local official: “Enjoyed talking with my good friend & one of our great Long Island leaders, Hempstead Town Supervisor John Ferretti, today at the Capitol.

Appreciate him making the trip to Albany, fighting for Hempstead families & business. https://t.co/JyyzVElmS0“.

On March 25, Ra addressed recent protests and a criminal case involving immigration enforcement: “While abolish-ICE protesters blocked doors at the State Capitol screaming for more sanctuary laws, a Guatemalan migrant was just arrested by ICE for raping a 5-year-old girl on Long Island.

Enough. Put victims first, not sanctuary policies that shield predators.”

Ed Ra has served in the New York State Assembly since his first election in 2010. According to his official biography, he is active in local organizations such as the Franklin Square Kiwanis and Knights of Columbus. His legislative focus includes promoting transparency in budgeting processes and enhancing public safety measures. Ra holds degrees from Loyola College in Maryland, St. John’s University School of Law, and Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.

He lives with his wife Laura and their shelter dog Carter.
