Tuition rates for New York residents attending Nassau Community College did not change for the 2022-23 school year, based on the latest information released, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Residents of New York paid $6,330 to enroll at the public two-year college in both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years.

Students from outside New York faced tuition costs 91.6% higher than residents, amounting to $12,130 for the 2022-23 year. This fee remained the same as in the previous academic year.

Approximately 99% of the undergraduate students at Nassau Community College are New York residents, with international students making up about 1% of the enrollment.

Data indicates that 71% of full-time undergraduates who began studies at Nassau Community College in 2022-23 received some form of financial aid. A total of 1,363 students were awarded grants or scholarships worth $11.4 million, while 444 students obtained student loans exceeding $2.3 million.

Among all undergraduates, 5,380 students benefited from grants or scholarships totaling $38.9 million. Additionally, 2,117 students borrowed $12.5 million in federal student loans.

Undergraduate education costs have seen a significant increase over the past few decades. Data shows a 169% rise in the average total cost, including tuition, fees, room, and board, between 1980 and 2020.

Meanwhile, student loan debt has steadily increased over the last 30 years, reaching $1.75 trillion in 2024, averaging a total of $28,950 per borrower. Federal loans make up 92% of the debt, with over half of students at both public and private four-year colleges graduating with student loans.
