Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman has announced the appointment of Dr. Irina Gelman as the new chair of the board of Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. The announcement was made public in a release from the County Executive’s office shared late Thursday night.
Dr. Gelman, who currently serves as the county’s health commissioner, will succeed Matthew Bruderman in the position. Bruderman has been the board’s chairman since 2022.
Nassau Healthcare Corporation (NHCC) has issued a statement in response to Newsday’s report regarding New York State’s recent pledge of $40 million for Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC).
Nassau University Medical Center has introduced a new mammography van, which was recently showcased outside the hospital’s main entrance.
Hundreds gathered on April 30 along Hempstead Turnpike to support Nassau University Medical Center.
