Assemblyman Ed Ra, a member of the New York State Assembly, posted several remarks on social media on January 18, 2026, reflecting on football and its fan culture.

In his first post of the day, Ra questioned his understanding of football rules: “Why do I feel like everytime I watch a football game I learn a rule isn’t what I thought it was?” (January 18, 2026).

Later that evening, he commented on the recent success experienced by young fans in New England: “Gotta just be happy for five year olds all over New England who have been waiting their whole lives for this kind of success!” (January 18, 2026).

In another post made shortly after, Ra referenced teams with less favorable histories: “True. It IS possible you’re the Jets or the Browns. https://t.co/dg9EmJdWQY” (January 18, 2026).

Ed Ra has served in the New York State Assembly since 2011 and is known for engaging with constituents on local issues as well as national sports topics.
